Pawradise is a Sydney-based pet bakery with purely hand-made gourmet pet food founded in 2021.
Our founder Lorraine has two lovely dogs, Chelsea the Siberian Husky, and Yukina the Japanese Akita.Lorraine and her husband are both avid dog-lovers, Chelsea and Yukina are rumoured to be the best thing that ever happened to them; the husband-and-wife team loved the two little brats and wished the best for them both.
But in October 2020, Chelsea suddenly fell extremely ill, and the diagnosis shattered the tranquillity of their lives. Chelsea has been diagnosed with severe liver infections, which cannot be cured, only delayed in its continued onset temporarily. This also resulted in multiple infections of the kidneys, spleen, gallbladder, and pancreas with differing levels of severity, the veterinarian says this may leave Chelsea with at most 6 months left to live. The results came as a shock to both Lorraine and her husband. But, whatever the results and reason, they must face reality, and have decided to follow the orders of the veterinarian; and help Chelsea along the road to recovery.
Because of the nature of the diseases as well as side-effects of the drugs, Chelsea had a noticeable lack of appetite, and would not take any dog food, even refusing to eat. From that time forward, Lorraine began researching and learning from whatever information was available regarding pet nutritional needs, and how it is to supplement the diets of pets in such conditions. In this crucial time-period, nutrition is vital for Chelsea’s body, and from this day forward, Lorraine began making her own pet food. It was soon the end of 2020, Chelsea had fought the infections for two months straight, and it was her fourth check-up. To everyone’s surprise, with the time spent on a routine of regular square-meals and medication, much to the surprise of the veterinarians, Chelsea has seemingly turned for the better, and has almost normal vital signs. This news came as if the sun has come out after a downpour. At the same time, the brand Pawradise has its genesis in the mind of Lorraine…
Owing to Chelsea’s seeming turn for the better, as well as an interest in making pet food, Lorraine decided the happenstance and opportunity could eventually engender and become a successful career. Therefore she began to make use of this opportunity to do just that, hoping to provide for our furry friends more healthy and nutritious options for their feed.
So from December 2020, Lorraine decided upon the founding of the pet-food brand Pawradise; and began the 11 months’ worth of preparation and construction. In this time, Lorraine had more studiously pored over the studies of pet nutrition, as well as arts-and-crafts and others, thus beginning the construction of the offices and designs of the shop; and held a commercial kitchen which is meeting Australia standard. With all the preparations in place, Pawradise Pet Bakery is at last open to the public!
At this point in time, Chelsea has endured the worst of what the veterinarians refer to as the ‘survival window’, although the regulation of feeding is not the deciding factor, Lorraine believes only the most natural of products or the closest approximation thereof can help our furry friends stay happy and healthy.
